Original Civil War C. Roby Eagle Head Side Knife in Museum Quality Condition. Mainly a producer of Cavalry Swords for the Union during the Civil War, Roby was also known for making Bowie Knives during the conflict. While not a military issued weapon, was available by private purchase to supplement their issued gear. The overall length is 13" and the blade is 8 1/4". Has C. Roby W. Chelmsford Mass on one side of the blade and blank on the reverse. The handle is tight to the blade and has a beautiful aged brass Eagle pommel.
